Rats vectors causing Lassa Fever

Lassa fever has continued to spread in Nigeria following the confirmed death of two in Bauchi State. More than 26 cases of Lassa fever had been confirmed in the state with 4 already confirmed affected.

The director General, Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA Pharmacist Ibrahim Gamawa, told DAILY POST in Bauchi that the agency had made a decision to review the primary healthcare services from January to March, 2019.

These cases has been discovered in five LGAs of Bauchi State which include Bauchi, Bogoro, Tafawa Belewa, Dass,, and Toro. The Government has responded by training 60 health workers in all the 20 LGAs of the state to fight the surge of Lassa fever.

Lassa fever can be prevented if we all keep our environment clean so as not to breed mosquitoes and rats.
